At Nexus Psychology our experienced psychologists are committed to providing a meaningful connection and supportive environment in which to explore and strengthen both physical and emotional wellbeing.
Death is a painful yet inevitable part of life. Whether it is an expected death, such as experiencing a loved one’s death from an illness, or an unexpected death, it doesn’t change the depth of grief that we all experience through losing someone. Within grief and loss, most people go through the certain steps, or “grieving processes”, which is a natural and healthy way to manage their grief. However, if one gets stuck on a certain step for a long amount of time, this is when grief can become unhealthy. This can ruin a person’s life, relationships and job. Talking to a psychologist can assist people through this. They can help one maintain their social and family relationships after loss, teach them how to cope with other people’s reactions when learning of their loss, help them manage anniversaries and special occasions that may trigger difficult emotions, and also how to guide them back into their everyday routines and lives.
If you feel ready to discuss your experience with grief and loss, please feel welcome to contact our service.
